In summary, KEMET offers an easy and smart way to improve the communication range of any NFC or RFID device. Working on the principle of magnetic flux convergence improvement, the Flex Suppressor® increases the real part of permeability (µ’) while keeping the magnetic loss (µ”) low. Two series are available to choose from, depending on whether the application requires to focus on permeability or on higher temperature requirements, or if there is a need to laminate the Flex Suppressor roll to the tag roll for a more automated installation process. These products are designed for effective carrier frequencies of 13.56 MHz and below, and different thicknesses allow to further calibrate the resonance point. The Flex Suppressor is resistant to shock and is not brittle, and being such a thin, flexible material allows it to be used in the tightest spaces, which in the current trend of miniaturization is becoming more and more an important factor in the design process. The Flex Suppressor can also be cut into any shape and does not need to be applied on a flat square surface, leaving it open to the unlimited imagination of the engineer on what their design will be.
