Introduction to LinkSwitch-PH and LinkSwitch-PL

LinkSwitch-PH dramatically simplifies implementation of LED drivers that deliver Power Factors greater than 0.9, low THD, TRIAC dimming, and very high efficiency. This highly integrated controller introduces a new control technique that provides very high power factor and accurate output current control in a single conversion stage that eliminates passive circuitry required for power factor correction, optocoupler and secondary current control circuitry. Designed for driving compact LED replacement lamps, LinkSwitch-PL enables very small and low cost TRIAC dimmable solution that combines power factor correction(and low THD) and constant current output into a single stage. LinkSwitch-PL operates over a wide input voltage range and delivers output power up to 16 W. Its innovative control algorithm provides flicker-free TRIAC dimming with minimal external components.
