Shown on this slide is what a stable signal looks like in simulation. It looks like an inner section between the feedback and the overall open loop gain at 20dB per decade. A problem that can happen in ECG analog front end conditioning has to do with the shield drive. As shown, the shield can be on the order of 500 to 1.5 nF of capacitance. Therefore, when using a very low power, single supply device it can often be a problem driving it directly. Stabilizing the shield drive is also an issue that needs to be strongly considered.
