The ATAES132 is a 32-Kbit serial EEPROM with support for both I²C and SPI interfaces. The EEPROM comes in standard packages like SOIC 8, TSSOP 8 and Mini-MAP. The supported interfaces and package types are like most standard EEPROMs, making it easy to replace any existing EEPROM. What is special about the ATAES132 is the added crypto engine based on the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm. This enables the EEPROM to perform authentication and encrypt and decrypt data stored within the EEPROM.
