KOV@G Series Composite Surge Protectors

Shenzhen Ruilongyuan has combined its patented gas discharge tube (GDT) with a metal oxide varistor (MOV) to create an innovative KOV® series composite surge protector.

The advantages of MOV+GDT connected in series include the ability to improve the power frequency withstand voltage, reduce the platform residual voltage relatively, and effectively cut off the leakage current of the MOV in parallel in the circuit. The clamping voltage of the varistor is higher than the working voltage of the circuit to cut off the GDT's continuous current under the working voltage. The failure mode is relatively controllable. The ultra-thin GDT is used, the overall thickness is slightly increased, and it is completely pin-to-pin compatible with the original varistor package.
