TE Connectivity (TE) ventilation panels provide high EMI shielding performance in a lightweight design
TE Connectivity (TE) aluminum honeycomb air ventilation panel product consists of 5052-grade aluminum honeycomb foil that is held in a rigid extruded aluminum mounting frame. The foil is formed and laminated into a series of honeycomb cells that are glued and perforated or laser welded at the join, providing a conductive path at each join. Although the foil is conductive in all directions, to enhance electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance, two pieces of honeycomb polarized at 90° to each other are recommended.
Mechanical
- Frame vents consist of a rigid aluminum frame that holds the honeycomb foil; an EMI gasket is attached to the frame
- Fan vents consist of an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) housing that holds one layer of honeycomb foil; the vent is provided with an EMI gasket attached directly to the honeycomb foil
Electrical
- Provides EMI shielding over an aperture while still allowing good airflow
