The layered boost prevents having to oversize the power supply to start current-hungry loads. A separate redundancy module is not needed in redundant applications due to the integrated MOSFET. Conformally coated PCBs allow for environmental resistance in applications with water/salt spray, conduction debris, and corrosive gasses.
